Charlotte MLS officially has a new name, crest and colors. Meet Charlotte FC, Charlotte's first Major League Soccer team scheduled to start their 2022 season at Bank of America Stadium. As the official signage and graphics partner for Charlotte FC, SouthWood made the banner that accompanied their exciting announcement.
The crest is blue, black and white – a nod to the Carolina Panthers who share the stadium. The circular crest includes a white crown with four points representing each of the four wards of Uptown Charlotte in the middle, the words Charlotte above and Football Club below, and Minted and 2022 on each side of the crown. The word Minted is a reference to Charlotte having its own branch of the United States Mint in the Gold District of South End.
The brand reveal took place virtually on Wednesday, July 22 while our team installed the giant 56x38 foot banner on the North Gate of Bank of America Stadium. We are honored to bring our partner’s crest to life and be part of this special day in Charlotte history.
Roger is a welder at SouthWood and is a loyal team member of 14 years. Roger played an instrumental role in several of SouthWood’s larger projects including Coastal Carolina Community College, Amber Cove and Lance. After work and on the weekends, Roger becomes a talented musician, especially on the bass guitar.
