Historic Latta Plantation Named Grant Recipient
Historic Latta Plantation
is a former cotton plantation and living history farm. Located within the Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, it houses 18th and 19th century artifacts that bring history to life for visitors. In addition to a fully furnished circa 1800 house museum, Latta has an exhibit area available for viewing during regular site operating hours. This exhibit tells the story of the Latta and Sample families, the slaves that lived on the plantation, and 19th century life in Mecklenburg. We are very pleased to announce Latta Plantation as the 19th recipient of our "Identifying Our Community" signage grant.
